Lyn Swackhamer is the Director of Aspirations Evaluation with the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her research focuses on STEM education and issues related to gender, diversity, and technology. Over the past 14 years, she has taught a variety of graduate level Research and Evaluation coursework, including Intermediate Statistics and Action Research for Teachers.

At NCWIT she evaluates all five Aspirations in Computing programs (The Award for Aspirations in Computing, the NCWIT Collegiate Award, the Educator Award, AspireIT, and the Aspirations Community) using a variety of surveys designed to capture formative and summative information to guide program improvement.
<P>
Lyn has presented on a variety of STEM education, data visualization, and survey research topics at conferences such as: the American Educational Research Association (AERA); the American Evaluation Association (AEA); and Psychology of Mathematics Education (PME). At NCWIT, she has assisted in preparing several grant proposals.
<P>
Before coming to NCWIT, Lyn was a Research Associate at RMC Research Corporation where she worked on numerous research and evaluation projects focused primarily on mathematics and science education. She obtained her MA in Curriculum and Instruction and her PhD in Education from the University of Colorado.
