Leslie Aaronson is the Strategic Director of K-12 Initiatives for NCWIT and the Program Manager for Girls Build LA Challenge in Los Angeles. She was awarded Teacher of the Year by LAUSD for her work as the Lead Teacher and Coordinator of Foshay Learning Center’s Technology Academy. She is a published author and speaker about computer science and how to prepare students for careers of the future and the importance of access and equity for all. Leslie sits on the advisory board for CSEdWeek, SciGirls Code, the Computer Science Department of El Camino College, and was a researcher for CS Teaching Tips. Prior to teaching, Leslie was the Production Manager for Blue’s Clues International at Nickelodeon. Leslie has a master’s degree in Educational Communications and Technology from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis. Leslie has teaching credentials in Administration, English Single Subject and Career Technical Education certification in Information Communication Technology and Arts, Media, and Entertainment.
