Fidelma Russo is a Senior Vice President in the Enterprise Storage Division at EMC Corporation, based at EMC headquarters in Hopkinton, Mass. EMC is a global leader in enabling businesses and service providers to transform their operations and deliver IT as a service. Fundamental to this transformation is cloud computing. Through innovative products and services, EMC accelerates the journey to cloud computing, helping IT departments store, manage, protect, and analyze their most valuable asset — information — in a more agile, trusted, and cost-efficient manner.
Ms. Russo was appointed the General Manager for the Symmetrix Business Unit in October 2012. This unit defines and executes the business plan for the VMAX product portfolio which includes DMX, VMAX 10K, 20K, 40K and Cloud Edition products. She directly manages the global product teams and is responsible for cross functional integration of solutions, manufacturing, sales and services supporting the VMAX product line. Prior to October 2012, Fidelma led the team that managed the business and technology lifecycle of the VMAX 10K and VMAX Cloud Edition products. In addition, Fidelma was responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enable worldwide partners to grow their market share with ESD products including VMAX and VPLEX.
A seasoned IT executive, she rejoined EMC after holding senior leadership roles at HP, Sun, and most recently at Sepaton, where she served as Chief Operating Officer. Russo first joined EMC in October 1999 from Data General where she served as Divisional Vice President of the Aviion product line. She has a wide ranging technology background with experience in server, storage and operating system technologies.
Russo holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from the National University of Ireland and a Master of Computer Science from Boston University.
