Beth Quinn is research faculty at the University of Colorado Boulder working on post-secondary projects at NCWIT. Beth directs NCWIT’s EngageCSEdu project, an online repository of course materials for introductory CS courses that are selected and peer-reviewed for their pedagogical quality and potential to engage diverse students. She also serves as co-PI and director of research for the NSF-funded EngageIT project, which is testing new models of professional development for community college computing faculty. The goal of the PD is to empower faculty to use research-based means of retaining and recruiting women in their courses. Prior to joining NCWIT, Beth worked in educational game development, where she led product research and development at the award-winning Filament Games, and was an associate professor of sociology at Montana State University. She received her PhD and MA from the University of California Irvine. Beth's research interests include workplace equity, processes of change within complex organizations, and pedagogical and curricular innovation. She lives in and works from Roanoke, VA.
