Areas of Expertise: STEM evaluation training focused on underrepresented minorities.

Dr. Rebecca Lowe received a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a specialization in educational program evaluation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has participated in advanced STEM evaluation training funded by the NSF that was conducted by the Evaluation Center. Dr. Lowe previously worked with the North Carolina NSF-funded Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) program as the Director of Research and Evaluation. The AGEP program seeks to increase the number of underrepresented minorities entering and completing STEM graduate education and postdoctoral training. Her graduate research appointment was as the evaluator of the Research Education Support Program, an NIH-funded program designed to increase the participation of underrepresented minorities pursuing graduate education in the Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Lowe is currently a half-time employee at North Carolina State University, working on an NSF-funded evaluation of the university’s STEM-focused elementary education program.
