All Girls STEM Society

All Girls STEM Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded in 2015 by current high school seniors Veronica Tang from the Bishop’s School and Eleni Fafoutis (who now lives in Virginia), and is managed by a group of high school students with the goal of creating a fun and encouraging learning platform for young girls to develop their interests, confidence, and critical thinking skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math, also known as STEM.  They firmly believe that encouragement and early education in STEM is an ideal approach to advancing communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical-thinking abilities, all of which can help girls - whether or not they pursue careers in STEM – acquire skills to confront real-world problems, examine issues, and apply knowledge to search for solutions.

In the past three years, AGSS has offered many free and fun workshops to girls covering various topics including aerospace, astronomy, computer programming, math, robotics, and web design, as well as an annual All Girls Math Tournament in San Diego.  Because of their creative curricular and fun workshop atmosphere, AGSS has attracted more than 2800 participants from over 230 schools in 25 school districts since its founding.
