Smith County School District

Our purpose, our mission in the Smith County School District is to provide learning opportunities that will challenge and encourage our students to succeed, and enable them to become productive and well adjusted citizens in an ever-changing society.  Recognizing that all students have worth, dignity, and individual needs and talents, we continually strive to adapt the Smith County School District’s education program to encompass a diverse student population.

Society for Information Management

SIM brings together IT leaders to share, network and give back to their communities through the collaboration of local chapters. SIM members strongly believe in and champion:
 
  • The alignment of IT and business as a valued partnership;

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a non-profit educational and service organization that gives women the tools they need to succeed and advance in the field of engineering, and to be recognized for their contributions as engineers and leaders. SWE provides an array of training and development programs, networking opportunities, scholarships, and outreach and advocacy activities that help make engineering a desirable career choice for women.

Sonoma State University

Located in California's premier wine country 1 hour north of San Francisco, Sonoma State is a small campus with big ideas.With a tradition of promoting intellectual and personal growth, leadership opportunities and technological proficiency, SSU offers its students a friendly, safe and informal atmosphere on a beautiful campus setting. Currently, campus housing accommodates students in both apartment and residential suite style facilities.

While SSU generally accepts all qualified students who apply from high schools in its service area, 80 percent of the freshmen and 55 percent of the junior transfer students come from outside the North Bay region. With 34 percent of the student body living on campus, it is one of the most residential campuses within the California State University system.
