UC Davis K-14 Outreach Center for Computing and STEM Education

The mission of the UC Davis K-14 Outreach Center for Computing and STEM Education (CSTEM) is to improve computing, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (CSTEM) education in both formal and informal programs in K-14. The goal of the CSTEM Center is to broaden participation of students, especially female and underrepresented minorities, in computing and to develop students' computer-aided problem-solving skills to tackle real-world STEM problems. The CSTEM Center also studies how to streamline the curriculum on computing education in the context of STEM subjects in elementary, middle, and high schools, and first two years in colleges to increase student interest in pursuing computing and STEM related careers, and post-secondary study.

Unknown16 is focused on encouraging young girls to undertake a project that works to solve a social issue by applying the knowledge we learn from STEM. This is particularly targeted towards young girls under the age of 16 to ensure that a passion for STEM is brewing from a young age.
