The Information Systems Engineering (ISE) Program at Fort Hays State University is the only one in the state of Kansas, and it is one among only a handful in the nation. FHSU is recognized as one of the nation's Centers of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education by the National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). ISE students will learn how to effectively use or "engineer" Information Systems, which are collections of hardware, software, data, people and procedures that work together to produce quality information. Therefore, the ISE program is a multidisciplinary area of study that involves software, digital storage and retrieval, networks, human computer interaction, information security, digital design and electronic media. Upon graduating from the ISE program, students will be prepared to work with complex information systems and have the skills and knowledge necessary to advance in their careers. Graduates with a degree in ISE are in high demand at various federal agencies and private companies.
