Activity Description

We used NCWIT student seed funding to develop a Programming for Girls coding workshop for middle school girls http://eecs.wsu.edu/~gsprint/cougarquest/. The workshop is divided into four two-hour days and each day involves a different activity (see web page) and is offered through the Washington State University Cougar Quest program, which provides the necessary infrastructure (i.e., housing, food, chaperones, administration).

Progress On Activity
We offered the workshop in July 2015 and were planning to offer it in 2016, but for some reason of which we're unaware Cougar Quest was canceled. However, Cougar Quest will be back in 2017, and we will offer the workshop again in summer 2017.
Lessons Learned
The program was successful, but we will offer a program for high school students as well the next time it is offered.
