Train HS teachers who have minimal knowledge and no formal training in Computing in the basics of Computer Science
Six high school teachers are taking CS 100 together with 21 "normal" students during the current summer class session. The high school teachers did not pay tuition, did not pay fees, do not pay for parking. They are taking part in the same way like all other students.
Progress On Activity
Teachers have been attending regularly. They filled in and submitted a pre-course questionnaire.
Scheduling is a problem. Courses at NJIT during the summer start before the end of the high school year ends.
The administration initially limited me to five high school teachers (although they allowed a sixth one in.) This makes sense as the teachers are "taking away seats from paying students." The course is held in a lab and there is a strict limit of number of students enrolled.
One teacher who was interested could not attend due to interference with Ramadan.
