Activity Description

Each year the entire university student population is invited to enter a competition to design a poster to advertise our introductory computer science course, Introduction to Algorithmic Problem Solving, CptS 111 http://bpc.eecs.wsu.edu/poster/. This course is taught in Python and now satisfies a university-wide course requirement in quantitative studies. Even awareness of the competition and its rules educates students that programming is not just for "nerds" and that it can be very creative. Amazon gift cards are offered to the winner and runner-up.

Progress On Activity
We have had two successful competitions thus far, our first in 2015 and our second in 2016. We now award a runner-up prize as well as a winner prize ($150 Amazon gift card to the winner and $50 to the runner-up).
