We are involved with Gateways to Completion (G2C) a national initiative through the John Gardner Institute that focuses on an introductory course that traditionally has high failure/withdrawal rates. One of our courses - CITP 110 - Introduction to Programming is going through this review. Virtually all CIT majors take this course, and success in this course may encourage students to continue on with more programming. This is a 3 year process and we are just at the beginning but we feel that the success of the G2C review will have positive impact on all CIT students, including underrepresented populations.
