Our NNW goal is to increase graduating females by 10% to 33%, because our average over 25 years is 23% graduating seniors.
Before joining Pacesetters, our three-year average slipped to 18%, with an actual headcount average of 5 women per class.
After using our NNW strategy (and supporting strategies) our 2017 percent is 42%, and our headcount is 23. DePauw's student body size is approximately 2300, so 1% of student body will graduate with a degree in pure computer science in 2017!
The "content preview", is a strategy in which we send an invitation to all first-year women (immediately preceding registration) and offer to teach the concepts necessary to complete the first CSI laboratory. We work through the laboratory, using female role-models (who are upper-class student majors) as individual instructors for each small group of first-year women.
