Alliances

NCWIT's Alliances bring to bear the experience of more than 250 organizations nationwide. As NCWIT's members, the Alliances undertake institutional change within their own organizations; identify and employ the practices proven to recruit, retain, and advance women; and assist NCWIT in guiding our research agenda, building data on girls and women in IT, and raising awareness about issues such as education, diversity, and innovation.

The Alliance meetings that take place during the NCWIT Summit are for Alliance members and invited guests only. To participate in an NCWIT Alliance meeting or to find out more about joining an NCWIT Alliance, please contact the Alliance Manager noted below.

In bringing together more than 200 distinguished representatives from computer science and IT departments of colleges and universities across the country, spanning research universities, community colleges, women's colleges, and minority-serving institutions, the Academic Alliance (AA) is pleased to welcome new members and visitors to the 2011 Summit. At our alliance meetings we'll discuss current projects, learn about recent AA Seed Fund winners, and hear about a new NCWIT resource, REU-in-a-Box. A panel on CE21 and CS Principles will be followed by a presentation on NCWIT evaluation. We'll conclude with the highly requested un-poster session, where we can find out more about each other's work.
