Extension Services for Undergraduate Programs

The goal of NCWIT Extension Services for Undergraduate Programs is to furnish change agents with evidence-based resources for recruiting and retaining women. We advocate changing the system, not the women (read about Systemic Change.) Resources for accomplishing reform can be found here. The National Science Foundation has generously funded the development of these resources.

Extension Services Consulting

NCWIT Extension Services for Undergraduate Programs provides customized consultation to academic department clients to accomplish their reform efforts. Clients are provided ongoing expert advice from Extension Services Consultants. Consultants support academic departments in identifying opportunities, resources, and peers who are experienced in recruiting and retaining women. They guide departments in developing assessment plans to track progress, suggest resources, and provide ongoing consultation to help clients accomplish their goals.

With a grant from the National Science Foundation, NCWIT Extension Services for Undergraduate Programs is partnering with ENGAGE: Engaging Students in Engineering to provide customized consultation to NCWIT Academic Alliance members and their colleagues in departments where women’s representation is worst. Computing and engineering departments work locally and regionally as cooperative teams to expand the pool of women who enroll in their programs and to retain them

With a gift from Google.org, NCWIT Extension Services for Undergraduate Programs provides customized consultation to NCWIT Academic Alliance members that are computer science departments.
