Founded in 1956, the University of South Florida is a young and vibrant university located in Tampa Bay. USF opened its doors in 1960 to 2,000 students. Today, the USF System welcomes more than 47,000 students from across the country and around the globe and is recognized as one of the nation's top 63 public research universities.
