Oakton Community College is dedicated, first, to excellence in teaching and learning. Occipital develops state-of-the-art mobile computer vision applications with natural user interfaces. Occipital is famous for developing RedLaser, a barcode-scanning application, and more recently the company reinvented panoramas with 360 Panorama, an app which makes 360-degree image capture as simple and fast as recording a video clip.

The Computer Science Department is located in the College of Arts and Sciences. The department offers Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate degrees. The Department has an exceptional faculty that does research in many forefront areas of computer science including artificial Intelligence, databases and bioinformatics, computer architecture, gaming, graphics, machine vision, operating systems, networks, cryptography and security, software engineering, programming languages, quantum computing, theoretical computer science, and scientific computing. There is also research in the social aspects of computing and learning communities. They have programs in Stillwater and also in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the OSU-Tulsa campus. Most of the courses in Tulsa are taught in the evening to accommodate those who work.

Orbotix is focused on bringing a new concept of fun through robotics and phone-controlled devices. Their first product, Sphero, uses Orbotix’s API to create the first robotic ball gaming system through the use of a smartphone. Founded by passionate lifelong robotic engineers, Orbotix is working to bring the world of mixed-reality gaming to smartphones everywhere.
