The Entrepreneurial Alliance addresses the causes and possible interventions concerning the small number of women who start IT businesses, file technology patents, secure funding, and transfer technology. This Alliance brings together representatives from more than 20 established entrepreneurial organizations who understand the factors associated with entrepreneurial success, and whose organizations work to increase women's representation.
See the list of Entrepreneurial Alliance Members.
Examples of the Entrepreneurial Alliance's work include:
- the NCWIT Symons Innovator Award, which promotes women’s participation in information technology and entrepreneurship by honoring an outstanding woman who has successfully built and funded an IT business;
- NCWIT Heroes, a series of magazine-style audio interviews highlighting women entrepreneurs in information technology (IT) careers; and
- NCWIT Entrepreneurial Toolbox, interviews men and women entrepreneurs about fundamental entrepreneurship skills such as networking, how to procure funding, writing a business plan, and the importance of failure.
